郭德银，1965年4月于河南省夏邑县，国家杰出青年基金获得者，国家“973”重大科学研究计划项目首席科学家，国家基金委创新研究群体骨干成员。
现任中山大学医学院院长，教授、博导，国家杰出青年基金获得者，国家“973”计划首席科学家，中国微生物学会病毒学专业委员会主委，国家创新人才推进计划重点领域创新团队负责人。学科专业：微生物学/病毒学、病原生物学、分子生物学。
曾任武汉大学基础医学院院长，武汉大学生命科学学院副院长，武汉大学生命科学学院教授，病毒学国家重点实验室副主任，武汉大学现代病毒学研究中心负责人。2001年6月提升为赫尔辛基大学生物系副教授。从2002年9月起受聘武汉大学生命科学学院病毒学科特聘教授任基础医学院院长。2016-2020任中山大学基础医学院（深圳）院长研究RNA病毒（正冠状病毒亚科和丙型肝炎）的基因组复制和与宿主细胞相互作用的分子机理。
